object selection and then right click

When I select a text box or object and then try to right click and select an option from the drop down the object then becomes unselected.

I have confirmed all these.

I also get this in the command window

1 of the monitored system variables has changed from the preferred value. Use SYSVARMONITOR command to view changes.

but when I look at the sysvarmonitor I see no changes?

This issue is specific to one drawing only.  purged and audited and recovered drawing completed also.

Any help would be great!

The only thing I can think of is to check the Right-Click Customization from the User Preferences tab in Options. If that doesn't help. Try WBlocking out the contents of the drawing and inserting the resultant file into a new drawing from template.

What kind of mouse are you using? Is it a fancy-schmancy mouse, with a lot of bells & whistles? If you have pre-programmed buttons then it may affect your mouse clicking options.
