Need help with this aligned dimension (multi length extension lines)

I have an aligned dimension and I want the bottom extension line to be anchored to the edge of the green box (where the red arrow is pointing. When I attempt to change the anchor location of that extension line, the dimension rotates, instead of staying aligned with the appropriate edge of the purple box. How do I accomplish this? The 2nd pic shows an example of what I'm trying to achieve.

You can change the Extension Line Offset for both.

I don't know how to change them individually. You may have to use a Wipeout to hide the portion of the line you don't want to see.

Use the DIMROTATE command. Click two points on the line you want to dimension to get the rotation angle, then click on the 2 points you want dimensioned.

Yes - I'm aware of that feature - it would be great if you could change the offsets for each line separately.

It seems you can only do what I'm attempting to do for a feature that is perfectly vertical or horizontal, not angled. In the second pic, I'm able to drag the extension line anchor point without the dimension attempting to rotate when I do so.

Good question! I have been using ACAD since R13 and only found out about it a few years ago.
