Need help with EXPORTLAYOUT command

When I use the EXPORTLAYOUT command the new file that it creates only contains line work and text that was drawn in paper space. How can I get it to also contain the base drawing that is referenced in model space?

Xref the sourcedrawing into the destination drawing, the one to which the layout was sent.

Is the xref visible in the viewport on the layout you are exporting?

When I tried it, the XREF came with it as a cropped block.

Yes, the xref is visible in the viewport. I agree that it should come in as a block, but mine isn't for some reason. I'll experiment with different drawings today to see if I can figure out what's going on.
