Must have Civil 3D Apps? Please share your favourite Apps

Hello everyone!

A few days ago I had a problem in which someone suggested that I downloaded an App. I saved somewhere around 70-85% time as the App was much faster than what I could have done myself.

I have realized that using the right Apps in Civil 3D will make me a lot more efficient!

What Civil 3D Apps can you recommend?

I have downloaded the following two and are enjoying them both!

https://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/CIV3D/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3asmartdr...

https://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/CIV3D/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3aslopeac...

I hope that everyone will share their favourite Apps as I think it will benefit us all.

Thank you all in advance.

Mikkel

Browsing the Apps for Civil 3D, version 2015, Win7 64 bit OS returns no Apps. Perhaps some of the older Apps work with 2015???

Are you wanting to limit suggestions to those on the Autodesk App Store?

I'd love any suggestions on what Apps might improve my efficiency no matter what site they are on.

Although primarily a substitute for Civil 3D when you don't need all the power that C3D offers; this app also provides certain functions that C3D does not do. We use it: http://dotsoft.com/mapworks.htm

I've found all of the Husson pipe tools have been of great value (FREE!)

Are you limiting your list to freeware only? I have both the SmartDraft suite and Sincpac. Both cost money but have many useful tools.

Thank you everyone for sharing your Apps!

Keep it up 🙂 I'm looking for any Apps that might improve productivity ranging from pipe networks to road constructing.

Wether is it freeware or not does not matter to me.

Interestingly. SmartDraft just changed hands. The gentleman who does the programming acquired the rights.

Hello Joel

I now have installed the apps from Husson (very helpfuel thanks). But in my Civil all the plug-ins are laying in seprate Plug-ins taps.

I know that i can go in CUI and transfer fra one cuix to another, but i my case I have 10 users that have theese plug-ins and i have to make this manuel on all of them.

Is there an way to put the plug-ins together when i install, or is there another way to do this?

Louise.

Louise,

If you're talking about them installing on their own panel on the Add-ins tab, then I'm not aware of any way to change that upon install.  I'm sure you could go into the CUI editor and move them around if you wanted, but that's not something I have ventured doing yet.  There are ways to make CUI editing easier for multiple workstations, but that's not my expertise.

This is what mine looks like currently:

Create an Enterprise CUIx on your server that all your users can access. From Help:

An enterprise CUIx file typically stores user interface customization that is shared by many users in a company, but is controlled by a CAD manager.

See THIS and THIS
