Multiple Grouped 3D Polylines need to become 3D Solids

Hi!

I am working on a project where I have many poles that are created as 3D Polylines and I need to make them into 3D Solids. This is easy when you need to do it on one pole but it requires a lot of manual work which is not an option when there is over 10 000 poles. Therefore I need a solution that automatically can transfer the 3D polyline geometry to a 3D solid. Is there a simple solution how this can be done?

I have attached a sample file of the poles and the geometry that is supposed to be attached on it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @filip.gavricTUTCK!

As far as we know, there is no simple solution to group this workflow for many objects.

You can try using the LOFT command; it supposes to work pretty well. You just need to delete the vertical 3D Polylines so that only the base and the top polylines remain. Then run the LOFT command, and select the bottom polyline and the top polyline, creating a Solid. Of course, you will still have to do each shape one at a time, but I think it will be better than trying to Extrude each one to the correct height.

You can also read the following article:

Let me know if this information helps!
