Match Lines

I have this cross section that I am trying to fit all on one layout. As you can see it extends past the plot print area. I want to create a match line that will put the part of the cross section that is outside the plot area into the plot print area. How exactly do I do this?cross section.JPG

That video is really not relevant.

I don't know if the software will do this, but I don't work with sections much, so I am not certain. What I would do is create multiple viewports on the layout tab and show the appropriate part of the section in each viewport. I would draw the matchlines and text in manually.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Honestly might just be better to create a long profile view and then use viewports and match lines? I’m basically trying to place multiple alignments that go up to 1500’ on one sheet

Basically what scale should my viewport and profile style be at if I am trying to fit an 2000' alignment onto a 22'x34' sheet?

100 scale should work

Just to clarify, the horizontal scale is whatever the viewport is at right and the vertical scale of the cross section would be set in the section view style?

Update: I have a match line created and I want to cut off part of the plan view without a hatch fill like shown in the picture. I just want a straight angled solid line. I tried using the match line mask pattern line, but I still get this hatched area.  hatch fill.JPG

You could do it as a profile instead of a section, assuming you have a only few and not dozens or more. Adjust the styles to look like section instead of styles and show like you would multiple profiles views letting the stationing and grid ends act as de facto matchlines.
