MAPCG... commands

In a fairly new, pretty stock install of C3D08 I can't get any of the MAPCG*
commands to work - MAPCGSETUP, etc.

Should they? Am I missing a path?

Hmmm, I've never seen any mapcg* commands. What are there functions? Is
there a toolbar that can call them?

Typing mapcg at the command line and then pressing the tab key will walk
through all the commands that start with mapcg and my install does not show
any at all.

Apparently they're part of the map3dgeospatial.cui that is partially loaded by default. On the Input and Inquiry toolbar in that cui there are a couple buttons that I thought I might like but several that don't work at all because they are MAPCG... commands (see attached screenshot) - some kind of COGO routines that I would like to at least check out. I'm configuring for rollout and like to have a good look.

Thanks for your thought.

I recall a few years back that there were several Map Cogo commands that
were removed from the Civil packages due to conflicts (?). These Map
commands you are speaking of may be in a similar category. For one reason
or another it appears they are not available.

Hi,

I understand now. Those commands are not available in Civil 3D because
Civil 3D has the tools built into it. For example, instead of using the map
continuous distance (the one you have displayed in the image) use the Civil
3D continous distance (from the inquiry toolbar). For the map input tools
(for example, bearing and distance) use the Civil 3D transparent commands.

Hope this helps.
