I'm setting up a fresh install of Civil 3d 2024.3. When I use MAPWSPACE to bring up the Map Taskpane it's docked to the left. When I try to drag it out into the canvas I get a don't symbol 
If I right click to get the options. Allow Docking is checked but greyed out. Is there a way to undock it?

Now I still wonder why it won't drag with just a left click like the other Palettes and why the CUI didn't affect it.
And, of course: Why ask Why.

Another one that needs a Ctrl + Left Click is Drawing Recovery Manager.
