Many ribbons after reimpoting cuix files

I get multiple ribbons after i re-import acad.cuix and c3d.cuix files. After reseting the ribbons I always get this issue. Would you be able to assist me to fix it?

by clicking on the arrow at the upper right hand corner, I get even more ribbons

When you load a CUIX file, the ribbon tabs get added to the workspaces.

If you have a back up of you base cuix, you can try transferring the workspaces in to overwrite the exiting which will hopefully fix your issue.

1. start the CUI editor by running the command CUI
2. Switch to the Transfer tab at the top of the cui editor
3. On the right, click the open button and load your back up of the base cui
4. From the Workspaces item, drag the workspace name that you want to transfer and drag it over to the workspaces item on the right
5. Click on replace when asked about the duplicate element
6. Repeat for the other workspaces
7. Click ok to exit the cui
8. Change the workspace and the ribbon should update.

This may duplicate the ribbon tabs and panels within the cui file, so if it is not an issue, choose replace all when prompted above.

Otherwise, unfortunately you need to edit the workspace to get rid of the ones you don't want showing.

1. start the CUI editor by running the command CUI
2. In the top left pan, select the first workspace you want to modify
3. At the top right click the Customize Workspace button
4. In the top left pane, expand the ribbon item then expand the Tabs item
5. Uncheck any ribbon tabs that you don't want showing.
6. Expand the Partial Customization Files item
7. For each loaded cuix
   1. expand the cuix
   2. expand Ribbon
   3. expand Tabs
   4. uncheck the tabs you do not want showing.
8. If you have an enterprise cuix, do the same as above.

you are getting the multiple ribbons because you are loading more than 1 cui file.  You don't need both acad and c3d files loaded.

andrewpuller3811 I would need to go ahead and try your steps, basically modifying the workspace settings, right?

johngordon6189 Initially, my civil3d came with acad and c3d cuix files loaded. However, I just unloaded the acad.cuix and that seems like fixed the issue.

I'll work with one cuix today and see how it's going to perform.

Yes, modifying the workspace is what you will need to do.

Civil 3d usually starts out with C3d.cuix as the main cuix and acad.cuix loaded as a partial customization file.

The Drafting and Annotation and the 3D modelling workspaces both use ribbon tabs from the acad.cuix. Without the acad.cuix loaded, you will get few ribbon tabs in these workspaces.

The Acad.cuix also brings with it the right click menus for objects and double click action for autocad objects.

Does double clicking on an MText object do any thing?

I see. I went on and checked, definitely Drafting and Annotation and 3D modeling miss several ribbons. As far as double-clicking the mtext - the cursor get put in the text box to type. Should it do something else?

After I have modified my workspace, is there anything I can do to save export it along with profile, meaning if I do all these modifications to a profile and then export it, would it carry over workspace modified 'look' or workspace needs to be saved separately?
