Making a Surface from Contour Lines

Hello,

We're working on a project for a Transportation Design Class, and are very stumped on surfaces and have exhausted all other resources. We have been given a map view of a roadway crossing terrain and have only been given contour lines as elevation data. We have calculated the elevations for the other stations along the roadway, and have those values in Excel. We are trying to turn the Station and Elevation Data into a surface, and are having trouble doing that. We're hoping the Civil3D Community has an answer on how to do this. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

So do you have a cad file with the coutour lines and when you select them do they report the correct elevation in the properties of the line? If so you can generate a surface from those lines.

Dear Friend,

As I understand you have contour lines with some point data at known stations of the roadway. You need to create surface from both these data.

Since you have stations and elevations that means you should have an alignment in the project. 

First create the alignment for the roadway in civil 3D. (You may have already done it.)

Then you can import points from station elevation as described here.
