lower linear work surface 0.0003 m


I want to select the linear work surface and lower it by 0.0003 m, how do I do this?

There is a function in Civil 3D to do this. See this.

 

You could also use the AutoCAD MOVE command and give it a displacement of 0,0,-0.0003

In a past career I worked on a product line that manufactured nanomovers capable of repeatable positional accuracy of about fifty nanometers.  I think I worked out the scale once, to illustrate how tiny that was: If you were to be shrunk down to the size of a human hair (around 0.003") then the accuracy of the positioners would be, to you at that scale, about the size of one of your hairs. 

 

It was a pretty big leap (in more ways than one) when I entered this field.
