Linework does not match layer properties when I import survey data

When I import my Survey data and automate the linework, all of the lines are the same color (cyan) and have the same default properties. I have updated my figure prefix database to put all of the linework on the correct layer. When I go to check the properties of each line, it claims that all of the general properties are "ByLayer" even though they clearly are not. What am I missing?

P.S. I have only been using C3D for about 2 months and have less than a year of CAD drafting experience. Please keep that in mind when replying.

Thanks!

Sounds like you are using the figure style called Standard survey figure, which by default has the color set to CYAN and BYBLOCK.

Hi Tate,

Welcome to the Civil 3D forum. Thanks for reaching out to the forum. Rick is right; by default, the Standard Survey Figure style has the color set to cyan. You can create a copy of the standard style and set the color to your preference. See this video

You can specify default settings for the Survey Figure Style by going to the ambient settings.
