Line types issue

I am using Mapimport to import line shape files. However upon import, the right line type  (custom) is not showing in the model space. It appears as a Continuous line. Any ideas why ?

Not knowing your definition but sometimes map import object by entity 

you mah have a layer for the linetype but map made it continuous.

ltscale, msltscale psktscale =-?

drawinh scale ?

If it is a custom linetype you are probably missing the shape file for it.

As Joe says, MAPIMPORT puts the lines onto a Layer. You can choose a Layer that has your Custom Line Type.

Sorry couldt get back earlier. I had to modify the ltScale of the object and it worked fine.

I was doing this step correctly. Had to modify the ltscale to make the line types appear correctly
