Line Labels using xrefs

I have a problem...We set parcel geometry in a base file and xref that into our plat drawings for labeling however we have noticed that in using civil 3d 2015 if someone has the base file open while another person is labeling the plat a "warning" comes up.  Once you get that warning that is it!  You have pretty much lost all your labeling and tag labels.  You not only lose it in your current drawing but your bak up file and temp save file are de-labeled also.  I just recently moved companies and we did the plats this way all the time and never had issues but we were running Civil 3d 2016.

Is it possible that this problem occurred in 2015 and was fixed in 2016?

I am asking this question because we have 2016 but the office has delayed to upgrade because we are waiting for new systems and we will probably end up upgrading to 2017.

Can you post a screenshot of this "warning"?

That particular "error" has proven to be benign/bogus or whatever you want to call it. (It was even 'introduced' in C3D 2017 SP1, and fixed in SP1.1)

Does it have something to do with the problem you are describing? Maybe, but I doubt it.

I've labeled through Xrefs for a long time and never seen this issue.

I'd open a support ticket with Autodesk ASAP, and get them on it.

So do you suggest not to run the recover.  When I get the warning I run the recover and then the second image is what happens.  All labels and tables are completely gone.  If I don't run the recover every time I save that warning message comes up.

And Yes I will run a ticket for it and see what Autodesk has to say but hopefully if its a fix on the upgrade we can just upgrade and keep production going but it sucks when you have a plat with 100 tag labels for lines 100 for curves and then boom its all gone within a recover.....

Thank you for your advice greatly appreciate your quick response!

Bianca, sincerely

Sounds like an initial start template issue. I'd still do what was suggested above. But I'd consider a template rebuild too.

I also have experienced disappearing labels upon receipt of the so called innocuous warning
