Line colors in model space do not match line or layer properties

My system specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70Ghz

16GB RAM

Windows 10 Pro

Version 1709

OS Build 16299.125

Intel(R) HD Graphics 620

DirectX 12.0

Running Civil3D 2018

Line colors in model space do not match the line or layer properties. I can hard code the line color and it still displays incorrectly. I can set the line properties to by layer, ensure the layer properties are correct, and still the line color displays incorrectly (should be yellow shows up blue, should be cyan shows up green, should be red shows up blue). I've also checked the model space page setup, and everything seems in order.

The only fix I've found is to disable hardware acceleration, but this seems like a poor solution to the problem because everything gets real choppy when it's off. Asking around it appears this may be a graphics card issue, but looking at all the specs above, my computer is above and beyond the minimum system requirements.

Can someone please explain what exactly is going on, and what I can do to fix the issue so I can enable hardware acceleration again?

Thank you!

Hey Luke,

Yes it shows that I'm in 2D wireframe and from what I can tell the style is all default settings.

Curious:  If you make a new viewport are the colors still wrong?

Hey MM,

Well the colors are wrong in model space, but yes there are still wrong in paper space/all viewports.

That is similar specs to my laptop, except I have a discrete video card and 2 SSD's.  I run Civil 3D 2018 fine on an external monitor (at 1080p).   Is your laptop new enough to have a Thunderbolt 3 connection?  If so, check out one of those PowerColor Thunderbolt 3 external graphics card boxes (you must add a graphics card).

I had the same problem. My lines in Modelspace were changed in different colors (not BYLAYER). However after a while they'd changed to a single white color on a black background. In different viewports in paperspace they would also remain without their assigned color.

I had to change Variable VSFACECOLORMODE to monochrome.

It changed every entity to the color I had designated. If I reverted back to VSFACECOLORMODE to Normal. Then it would go back to displaying lines to a white color on a black background.

The Visual style (2D Wireframe changes to *Current*, if I revert to 2d Wireframe id' loose my monochrome setting)
