Lambert projection India does Lead to Proper place in google earth

Coordinates in xls file are based on "Lambert Conformal Conic Projection for India, Meter" but when export to google earth it leads to a ocean instead 

1- Zone I; Pakistan 28-35'35"N, Kalianpur 1962 Datum (Metres) 

2- Kalianpur 1975 / India zone I

leads near to target (inter section of 2 centerlines)

 

How to correct  "Lambert Conformal Conic Projection for India, Meter" parameters that it lead to target instead of ocean

Arshad,
All 3 of your drawings are in Imperial (Feet) Units, but each of your assigned Coordinate Systems are Metric:

India-LCC
Kalianpur1975.India-I
PAK-I-M

Your Excel Points are Feet. Convert them to Meters. Then open a new METRIC drawing and assign one of the above Coordinate Systems. Import your points, using an EN Point File Format. Then you can export a KML/Z file.

It doesn't work because India-LCC is not the correct projection. You will have to use either

  1. Kalianpur1975.India-I (EPSG 24378)
  2. PAK-I-M Zone I (Kalianpur 1962 Datum)

I concur with  that the coordinates in your spread sheet are expressed in units of feet. This is incorrect and creating a big issue in your workflow. They should be in meters. You will have to convert the individual x-values to meters. Multiply by the (1÷3.2808). Do the same for all individual y-values too.

 

To further support the contention that your drawing is messed up, type DWGUNITS on command line and you'll notice that the drawing units are in feet. This suggests the original author used an Imperial template instead of using a Metric one. I recommend you start over from scratch.

 

To assign the coordinate system in your map, I recommend you type MAPCSASSIGN on command line. Perform a search using 'Kalianpur' as the key word, then select Kailianpur1975.India-I from the list of results and click ASSIGN..

 

Alternatively, you may search using key word 'Pakistan' then select PAK-I-M, then ASSIGN.

 

Either of the recommended coordinate system will put your line work on dry land, not in the ocean.

In 1994 the topo survey was conducted with Lambert projection

Now we have to RE-FIT the new topo-survey to calculate the 24 years impact on the site 

Thats why we want to go in age of stone

 

I need help to determine the 0,0 (x-section) of 2 center lines

Please help to search the 0,0 with the coordinates in ft or m does not matter

In India-LCC I get the same as you--Ocean Points. Looks like your data might be flawed.

I am not a expert of these but in my opinion (as pak-I and India zone-I 1975 remain close to target ) the same way the if lambert parameters be corrected it will lead to near (Pak-I & India zone-I) instead of an ocean

May be I am wrong sorry for that 

with your help I have to dig out a way to show these lines at x-ing of 2 center lines

You cannot change the parameters of India-LCC without creating a new Custom Coordinate System. Your data is flawed and unusable. Suggest you use _ALIGN Command to move those old points in your new drawing.

Thank you for clarifying. Using the text file named lambert.txt in post 3 of this thread, you can insert those points into India-LCC projection and they will be at the location of the Thal Canal. Your explanation of the situation was not clear and created confusion when trying to place them in a drawing. As it turns out, they are using Kalianpur1975.India-I (EPSG 24378) and not Lambert Conical Projection.

 

Someone else, not you, has already converted them from India-LCC to Kalianpur75 zone-I. Another possibility is the coordinates, which appear to be a proposed or recently constructed canal,  were shot in Kalianpur75 and were never in India LCC to begin with. At any rate, you and everyone else, must treat those coordinates as Kalianpur75. You may then insert the points into any projection, including India-LCC, and they will appear at the Thal site. If the coordinates are stated in meters, which they are, the points will be on dry land, not the ocean. Since the units in lamber.txt are indeed meters and not feet, you'll be fine using this file.

 

Try this:

  1. Start from a fresh, new, clean metric template. Don't use an imperial template.
  2. Switch from Civil 3D workspace to Planning and Analysis workspace.
  3. MAPCSASSIGN on command line. Search India-LCC. Select India-LCC and assign it to your drawing.
  4. Go to Insert tab/Import panel/MAP IMPORT icon. Make Files of type ASCII Point File from the dropdown menu then browse to lambert.txt, select it, then OK.
  5. Formatting/Select Formatting/choose ENZ (space delimited) from dropdown. A portion of your data will appear in the preview section.
  6. Coordinate System assignment/Enter code/Click the Coordinate System icon (see image-1). In search, enter India-LCC. Highlight India-LCC, then click SELECT button. (By clicking SELECT, you have just informed Map3D to perform a transformation on lambert.txt from Kalianpur75 to India-LCC.)
  7. Click OK. Your points will appear in your map. Zoom in and turn on Bing imagery. Select all points, go to Properties palette and change Scale to 5000 (see image-2).

Inform M3D your points are using Kalianpur 1975 projection by clicking CoordSys button, then select Kalianpur1975.India-I.1-Map Import: Choose ENZ (space delimited) format. This conversion lead to a desert in stead of near to thal canal Head regulator

 

Direct Kalanipur Zone-I 1975 lead near to head regulator  nor to the intersection of 2 canals center line

 

I appreciate your input but I am not LUCK to get the target
