Is there a way to prevent a dragged cross section label from orienting to the viewport?

@Jeff_M, thanks for the reply. I had already tried that but the results are not what I would expect, see the 1:3 slope below. I have tried toggling the plan readable but this did not resolve the issue either. The slope is setup with Orientation Reference to Object, which is why toggling to As Composed aligns with the slope. I would like one label that reads along the object, and when dragged away from the object it is 90 degree to the bottom of the title block.
