Label Style Composer different components or all-in-one?

I have used hundreds of civil label styles for many things. Some I get from other projects, some I create myself. My question is when creating components for a label style is doing everything in one single text component best or should several different text sets be used? Personally, I prefer to have all my callouts in one text label then set a drag state Maximum Text Width. I get drawing from clients where they have structures labels with Length, Slope, Size, Inverts each as its own component.

Which is best?

For me...if I can get it all into one component I will, but sometimes I split them up. If maybe I want to change the visibility for some reason I can just simply turn the visibility of that component to false and still keep the other components on.  So I guess it just depends on the need for that label.

I try to keep them all in one component as well, otherwise, depending on the label, if I want to mask it or apply a text frame to it, those two options will be for each component, thus, you get multiple text frames when you have multiple components.

For me it depends on how I want the label to look and behave.  Sometimes you need them to be in different parts and anchored in different ways, and sometimes you want them to stay all together.

It depends on the situation.  In some cases, different parts are aligned to different points, so they require multiple components.  In others, it makes the most sense to have a single component, that way you know that everything will be uniform to each other.
