Issue with junction

Hi there,

Attached is my Civil 3D model (I admit its not the most simplistic and a bit all over the place) of my residential site development. I am encountering issues with designing junctions in my site. If someone could open the model and have a look as to see where I'm going wrong and have a look what I've done that would be great. Ye're experience and knowledge would be of great benefit to me. Any other issues you see with my drawing you may also highlight them to me. I am an inexperienced user of Civil 3D and struggling to get my head around aspects that I'm able to do easily on Civil 3D tutorials but not with this drawing.

Thanks very much!

Hello Thomas,

to create junctions, you need to use targets. Width and height targets are essential components when creating corridors. Polylines or alignments can by used as with targets.

Your assemblies support targets, so you need to use them. Intersections/junctions need more assemblies, for example, you need an assembly of a half street if you follow curb return alignments.

Centerline alignments should be siteless, otherwise they create parcels.

And what about profiles? You've only used profiles from the surface so far, but in your profile views you should add the planned elevation as Layout Profile of the street and use it later.

In addition to what UDO has related, here is one method that Jeff Bartels gives:

I think Jeff's tutorial may be of benefit from what ive seen so far! I have yet to create the necessary assemblies required so I may start by doing that! I will let ye know how I get on! As my drawing is uploaded would you be able to see if I am able to undertake a cut and fill analysis as it is but if not would you be able to highlight what I may need to do as this is also another feature I must do next!

Thanks
