Island infill corridor modeling

Hi All

Does anyone know how to model island infill and which subassembly should be used in that case in the attached image?

Many thanks

Hello,

I create the intersection without islands. On the DTM from the intersection I define a feature line (elevation from DTM). The new feature line is the base for a new corridor with a separate assembly. Please see attached picture.

Is this the result, you need?

Dear Gerald,

Thanks for this approach, but this solution is not exactly what I was searching for.

My idea is to develop the corridor using alignments and profiles for the whole intersection which is pretty complex. Please see attached.

I have forgotten to mention I am using C3D 2014, so I am not sure will I be able to use feature line as a base in this version.

I have seen somewhere on the web this kind of solution, but I haven't been using so far.

I have no so much experience in Civil so I am trying to do corridor in a familiar way to me.
Thanks and regards.

Hello,

with 2014 it is not possible to use featurae lines as basline for corridors.

The intersecktion looks difficult. But in such cases I remove all additional elements (like road marking, islands, ...) and concentrate to the top surface.

So I think you can create the intesection. But you need some assemblies. In your case the special is, that you have 3 alignments. In your JPG are only 2. On the south-east is also an road as part of the intersection. But the secondary alignments are not connectetd in the same point on the primary alignment.

In the picture I have shown such an example.

I can send you the DWG. But it based on the German country kit.

Dear Gerald.

It won't help me your dwg, because your layout is quite different.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Hello @gleonhardt ,

so in your case, the intersection (DGM and Corridor) and the traffic island are not linked together. RIght?

You design the intersectrion as usual and afterwards you put on the Featureline inklusive the seprate corridor?

In this case, the surface area of both traffic islands is doubled(1: SUrface Island, 2: SUrface general intersection) --> under each traffic island, there ist also the surface area of the general intersection?

Is there a way to connected these areas?

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

if you create the featureline you can define, that the featureline is connected with a DGM. So any changes in the intersection corridor has effects to the featureline.

Currentlic this is the easiest way for modeling of the islands.

We tryed to create a intersection corridor including the islands manually. It will be total complex because of the huge numer of regions and assemblies.

Best regards

Gerald
