Is there a way to link a point group to a shapefile (located in the task pane), and when a modification is made to a point description, the same changes happen in the shapefile?

Is there a way to link a point group to a shapefile (located in the task pane), and when a modification is made to a point description, the same changes happen in the shapefile?

I am working on a tree inventory.

I imported the tree points using a .csv and created a point group. I then connected to their minimum tree protection zones (MTPZs) buffers by using the task pane and connecting to the shapefile.

I now have the points surrounded by their buffers in my model space.

Within my points/buffers, there is a column that shows whether the tree should be removed (R) or (P). The buffers are colour coded, red for remove, green for preserve, however, this is subject to change based on an arborist evaluation.

I am wondering if there is a way (after I get the arborist evaluation) to link the points/shapefile together, so when I change a point from R to P or P to R, the buffer colour changes based on this modification.

Thanks!

Description keys won't hatch a buffer.

Besides, if your gonna write desc keys, you may as well create shapefile cuz the shapefile will allow you to create fill (or hatch inside a closed polyline.)

Jus sayin'.

Yes - description keys will handle this for the know sizes and can be updated if the tree survey adds or changes the any size.

I did pretty much the same as @samir_rezk  did except I merged the recomment-treeID-buffer in the raw description. since there are only 10-12 different buffer size creating the keys is not very onerous. Once imported if the arborist changes hi mind on P or R communication of tree# or giS overlay can easily solve the alteration.

For this exercise I did not bother creating UDP but they can easily be added too. I also just used to OOTB blocks to demonstrate

all you need to do is change th R or P and APPLYDESCKEYS

Thank you @samir_rezk  for kick starting me

You stated in an earlier post that you have uploaded a sample zip. I don't see it attached anywhere.
