Is there a way to convert all points within a point group into a structure?

I am working on creating a pressurized pipe network and I have a few thousand valves and hydrants marked with COGO Points. My end goal is to export the file to GIS. Is it possible to automatically convert each point group into it's respective structure from an existing parts list? Will it be worth the effort once the file is converted into GIS?

Out of the Box, I don't know of a method that can convert Cogo Points to Pipe Network directly. However, one way you can accomplish it is via a Shapefile!

• Use ConvertPointsToSdskPoints Command to create AutoCAD attribute Point Blocks
• Use MapExport Command to create a SHP file from the Blocks, be sure to select the block attributes as additional data
• then Use the ImportGISData on the insert Tab/Import Panel to connect to the Shapefile and map the attributes to Civil 3D Structure properties; you can do the same methodology for your pipe polylines as well, in that case, you would want to connect to the folder containing two shapefiles.
