Is it possible to divide an alignment in CIVIL 3D?

I was wondering if splitting an alignment is possible in civil 3d.

what i mean is, in some cases the project does not require upgrade from start to finish. instead the client would ask for sections of the road to be upgraded and skip over well maintained sections.

For example: Start station 0+000 to 5+000

                     skip station 5+000 to 7+000

continue 7+000 to 12+000 and so on.

now i know that the job can be done by multiple alignments obviously, but is it possible to do it as one alignment, since its the same road but skipped over a few sections?

in advance, thank you for your reply.

Use masking.

Alignment Properties, Masking tab.

i was hoping it would continue the station counts, after the masking. but at least its better than multiple alignments.

Thanks,

Are you saying that you want the stationing at the start of the mask to match the stationing at the end of the mask, as though the gap in the alignment wasn't there?

Use Station Equations. Go to Alignment Properties, Station Control tab.
