Is it possible to create natural drainage channel pipe parts in Civil 3D for use in SSA?

I am trying to model natural drainage channels in Civil 3D prior to exporting for use in SSA for hydrologic analysis of a natural terrain with many subbasins that are interconnected. There is currently no pipe part that represents an open natural drainage channel in Civil 3D, and there are way too many pipe segments to convert to an open channel in SSA once it is imported into SSA. Any help is greatly appreciated.

While that answer is yes, you could create a pipe part and match it to SSA's Open Channel - you might be best to draw simple linework and export those open channel lines to SHP before using the SSA GIS import.
