Hello everyone,
I'm new to Civil 3d so please forgive me. I'm trying to import the attached file into Civil 3D 2016, with no joy! Ive tried as a DEM and point file but it does not recognise it. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I've attached the file as .txt because it will not let me upload the .asc.
Many thanks in advance,
Stu.

It looks like a Genio file. There was a Genio import function in the 2015 Productivity Tools. I don't see that in the 2016 Tools. So it might be built in to 2016. We're still on 2015.

It's a little slow and clunky using Civil via VPN but the screenshot shows what I got - it looks like an EGL survey but it also demonstrates that GENIO is a less than ideal format for this sort of work (it's great for alignments etc).

Hi Neilyj,
You are correct it is an EGL and your picture is exactly how it should look. I had installed the Genio extension tool and tried this before posting on here yesterday but had no joy. It has however now worked when I tried again, but it has all come in as one layer and one colour. Did you have to do anything inparticular to make it look like you have shown?
In anycase, as mentioned this type of file or information is not really usable for what I need.
Many thanks in advance.
