Insert a JPEG Map to Scale

Insert a JPEG Map to Scale

Hello,

I am attempting to insert a JPEG map I created in ArcMAP into paperspace in Civil 3D, but when I use the "MAPIINSERT" function, the scale of the image becomes very small and the only way to expand it to the true size is to create a polygon with the dimensions of the map created in ArcMap and then scale the small image to the size of that polygon. This method, however, loses the image quality as the expanded image is grainy.

Do any of you know a way I can just insert the JPEG into Civil 3D paperspace as its actual size? Every image I import comes in as a fraction of the size.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Best,

Jacob

Are you trying to spatially locate the image also? Can't ArcMap make a world file for the image?

When you export from ArcMAP do you get an associated world file?  It would likely have a .JPW extension.

Use AutoCAD's Attach command and the JPG will only be scaled if you type numbers in the scale input boxes.

This will not georeference the image.
