Infrastructure Parts Editor - Pipe Connection Point\Reference Point

Has anyone found a reference on how the Inventor model is supposed to add Pipe Connection Points?
Here are steps I think should work: https://autode.sk/3HPPCVW

I've tried this, but it doesn't appear to work: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Inven...

Opening it in Civil 3D doesn't have the points show up.

I'm using Civil 3D 2020 and Inventor Pro 2020.

This could be either

  • IPE does not like it when the Reference Point is at the same location as the Insertion Point
  • IPE doesn't update the part fully when the Inventor Part GUID does not change. This would indicate that I did the step correctly when fixing the first item, but since I was using the same starting point in Inventor it had the same GUID.
  • Or all of the above.

It appears if I want to modify a Surface Structure or Underground Structure I'll need to do a Save As in Inventor and then do a Save As back to the original file name. This should give the part a new GUID and then I can go and delete the old part information from:

  • "\ContentLibrary\Templates" folder
  • "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Kameleon\Shape Templates"

Or does some have an easier way to delete a part that is no longer needed?
