Trying to import a high resolution TIFF image (60 Gb) in CIVIL 3D it's not recognized using _IMAGEATTACH command nor is it displayed using ADD RASTER IMAGE WITH DATA CONNECTIONS

What could be the problem?

Hi Manuel,
60GB!?! Wow, that's huge!
The regular Tiff format can only handle 4GB, so your 60GB monster is in BigTiff format. I don't think Civil 3D can use it. (I might be wrong)
What software created it? Can you crop it or reduce its resolution?

The high resolution tiff images have been created with drones. I'll import them into QGIS or some similar software and create vector elements to import into civil 3d.

Thanks

Manuel,
QGIS or GeoViewer, or Pix4D, might be able to open that monster. I'm interested to see. Please report back if you have success.

Dave, I've had no problem importing 16 tiff files of 60gb each into QGIS. Attached image:

Now I will proceed to draw vector elements and export them to dxf.

You can export them from qgis as shp file. First use create contures from tiff in qgis and export it with elevation. Then you can import it in civil create surface from gis data.

Or better tray using infraworks. Infraworks has ability to import geotiff files and create model of terein from it. Later you can export surface from infraworks and import it in civil 3d.

Hi Asmir,

We already have the topography in dwg, what we need is to see in CIVIL 3d green areas or buildings that we must exclude in the project (an example image is attached). For this reason, we will draw vector elements to delimit those zones and export them to the project.
