Import .IMX

I am using 2015 Civil 3D and have created a porject in Infraworks for the first time. I am trying to import the .IMX file into Civil 3D but it seems to be taking forever to load the file.... Its still stuck nearly 30 minutes after trying to import it. Anyone have any sugestions on how to fix this? 

The computer I am on should be more than adequate to handle the file in a technical sense.

Hi,

Have you tried opening the actual InfraWorks model into civil 3D (.sqlite) instead of using an .imx file? You can try it out by going to the insert tab in Civil 3D and choosing the "open infraworks model button". Doing it this way it will give you more options of what to open (objects) and what portion of the model to open. This will allow the model to be loaded into Civil 3D quicker.
