I know we went through all this, but...
There's no longer an easy button for that that I have found. The re-vamp removed that even if you don't respond you must use the back button. Extra thought went into this redesign.

I am not certain what you are asking for.
The breadcrumb navigation line at the top may do what you need.
Click on 'Civil 3D forum' to get to the topic list. (Top of first page - not necessarily where you came from.)
Clicking on 'Civil 3D Forums' takes you to the Civil 3D landing page with access to forum, customization, and ideas.
I often right-click on a topic and select open in a new window, do my business, then close the new window.
I live with the topic I just visited, still showing as NEW.
