How to use pipe network as reference point in subassembly composer

I am trying to create a subassembly similar to the built-in ones, TrenchPipe2 and TrenchPipe3, where I can choose a pipe network as a reference and use the pipe diameter to control the geometry of the assembly. I'm struggling to find any info on this, if it is even possible. I downloaded tutorial pack from Autodesk but don't see anything that suits my needs.

How can I define a point (or other geometry node) in the subassembly composer that represents a pipe network for other geometry nodes to reference?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I do not think that SAC targeting pipe network information is supported.

You could potentially fake it by making featurelines or polylines or alignments/profiles that follows your pipe invert and targeting that to define a point in SAC and having the pipe diameter as an input parameter but that would be a bit clunky. Alternatively to the pipe diameter as an input parameter you could also set up two targets for horizontal and target the pipe center and an outside pipe edge to calculate the diameter. The downside to all of this of course is if you make any  pipe network revisions you also have to modify your linework.

Thanks for the answer. This is too bad, and I kind of expected this answer but hoped that I was wrong. Seems like I'd have to make do with the built-in assemblies :(.

I'd recommend voting for this idea to show continued interest in targeting pipe networks in SAC:
