I have 1 project with 160AC Area and we create the FG,EG surface, storm, sanitary pipe... a lot of object, so when we create the sheet show 1 road in the project I take along time to open this sheet ( I have more 50 sheet). How I only show object in  viewport at work and hide all object out side viewport

The screenshot does not provide much information.

Do you have many section views in your drawing?
If a drawing with Civil 3D is slow, you should conceptually improve the workflow.

  • If you have multiple viewports in a layout, you can hide the contents of the viewport by turning off the viewport while you work.
  • If you want to suppress objects, freeze layers globally or in specific viewports.

Questions:

  • Do you use data references for civil objects?
  • Have you already tried to create the layouts in separate drawings with clipped xrefs?

There are different things you can do weather your data is xref or live in the host view port drawing.

if xref you can clip the xref.

if live try this

This is private the project, I can't put it here. But I can drawing it like the image below. I always use xref and shortcut.
My Goal hide all object out side my viewport at model. Is this possible sir ?

This is core AutoCAD functionality. You might have better luck asking in the AutoCAD forum.

I do not think what you want to do is possible.

You could investigate model space viewports.

I drawing the Polyline (the yellow line) around the viewport plan in paper space after I use command "CHS" move the polyline to model space( the green line ). So At model space I want to show all object in the polyline ( green line) and hide all object outside polyline. Is this possible ?

If all the objects in the drawing are X-Ref's then you could do an Xref Clip so that only the area in Green appeared.

Why is xclip so challenging?

The BNDY of project is huge sir. It is 160 AC and have a lot of thing include, pipe SS, STORM, WATER and  EG, FG surface xref base file,.etc... So when I open the sheet show 1 part of project it take along time to  load all of it. I want to civil 3D only load object in closed polyline and don't load any thing outside it in the model space. I think It help decrease time open file.

Thank you, @thangdev1996

I understand what you want to accomplish.

  1. I do not know of any way to do this in model space.
@rl_jackson and @Joe-Bouza do not seem to know either. They are very experienced and reliable. High badge numbers are a hint.
  2. Here is a possible Paper Space workaround:
    1. Create a new layout, "Road A Work."
    2. Size and Zoom the viewport to your desired work area.
    3. Lock the viewport.
    4. Edit your model through the viewport.
    5. You will need to switch to Paper Space to pan and zoom.
  3. In responding to comments, you mentioned performance issues.
    1. I am not an expert, so I cannot help much.
    2. Most of your editing should be done in the XREF drawings.
    3. XREF clipping is intended to help performance.
    4. Unload any troublesome XREFs that are not absolutely necessary while editing this drawing.
      Reload when needed for plotting.
    5. Consider breaking up large XREFs and loading only the necessary parts.
    6. Search the forum for "Performance."
  4. Civil 3D has limitations. You found a limitation. You will have to live with it. You can make it easier with workarounds.
Autodesk does make improvements, but it can take years.

I get the feeling all your civil3d objects are in the host drawing. Is that correct?  then it is suggested to put them in an xref that can be clipped.

Next question: of 160 ac as you say, no one needs to see that part while working on this part. Is the host drawing meant only for drafting?

Now styles and dividing up the data set. Style can eat up resources. If you have civil3d objects loaded that are less pertinent to the work their style should be as bare as possible, break up the objects in to manageable pieces. surface for example. If you are show 160 ac civil3d surface, you are screwed.

your 160 ac project has to be evaluated by the team and managers as to what is the best distribution of data? who need what, and where.

I corridor that crisscrosses the the 160 ac can be broken up

drefs are you friend

large surfaces? consider "cropped surfaces for area of interest.

you have to break the monster down and divide it up

Thanks for your response sir.
I don't know what mean drawing host you say.
I work in civil 3D follow step.
1.  We have Base file include:
-FinishGrade.dwg (FG): It have last my proposed  surface.

-ExstingGrade.dwg (EG): It have Exsting surface.

- Sanitary,storm,water.dwg (SS,STORM,WT): It have sanitary,storm,water pipe.
-LineWork.dwg(LW): It have line work of site plan.
-...etc.. but these above is basic.
2. We use data shortcut for FG,EG,SS,STORM,WT.
3. When I create the sheet. I follow the step:
 - Take shortcut EG,FG, SS,STORM,Wt from data shortcut

- xref file LineWorl.dwg.
That all my workflow.
Question:
1. I think Because I use data shortcut a lot, so it take a long time to open the file sir?
2. I think we can find idea work for civil 3D do not load anything outside the work area( it is the green area I show in the image above) in model space.
3. I try working on PAPER space, but civil 3D always regeneration and one time regeneration it take to me a lot of time.

The host drawing being the the one you are working in.

put the Drefs in and xref and attach Blake the base. Then you can clip everything

Let’s make sure of something here. You are data refing civil3  objects into the drawing you are working in, and xref in line work for Storm sanitary, etc. it you are refing the same Civil3d objects bin xrefs AND dref in to the working drawing (Host), you Will definitely crush your system.

one or the other never do both
