How to restore custom settings saved before reset to defaults

I loaded an add-in that wiped out my ribbons. Switching workspaces and profiles back and forth did not work neither did a restart.  When resetting to factory defaults I choose the option to back up my custom files, which created a ZIP file.  The settings were reset and the ribbons are back but I cannot find how to restore the settings contained in the ZIP file.  I had numerous tool palettes that are captured in the ZIP file. It was really time consuming to create them and I don't want to have to repeat that effort.  I am running 2019 C3D.  Help

Did you try the IMPORT AUTOCAD 20XX SETTINGS from your Windows Menu.

I saw that method in knowledge.autodesk but it does not appear in my Windows 10 menu.

If IMPORT AUTOCAD 2019 SETTINGS is not in my Win 10 menu, how do I get my settings back?

Are the ToolPallet file extractable from the ZIP file? Try extracting them to C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D 2021\enu\support\ToolPalette or whatever your _TOOLPALETTEPATH System Variable is set to.

Thanks, I thought that would have worked too. But after restarting cad it still does not recognize them.

I am running a home license; I wonder if that's the difference.

You may have to import them. Open a ToolPalette and right click on a bland area. Select Customize Palettes. In the Customize window right click on the Palettes pane. Select Import and browse to your ToolPalette.

I tried that but it is looking for .xtp files.  The backup saved .atc files

That makes it difficult. I googled "How to import atc files in Civil 3D". There were a couple of suggestions. But I don't know if any of them will work.

I am still trying to wrap my head around how I am allowed the opportunity to back up my settings but not the ability to restore them in the format they were backed up.  The process does not seem to be well thought out...or not readily found.

Under the Windows 10 menu, look under  Autocad 2019.

Thanks Joe but that is what should have been done prior to the reset....and is what I will do in the future.  Unfortunately, the reset process offers the opportunity for a back up but it apparently does something different (ZIP file) than options>export (.ARG file).

And that is the problem; it does not exist. See the pic of my menu in the 3rd entry in this string.
