How to "deassociate" a "pasted" surface

Hi guys;

I'm working with several surfaces on my drawing. One surface is made, and other, and this two surfaces are pasted in a third one.... this third one is pasted on another one and so go on...

The problem is that with so many surfaces associated together, autocad always find a way to error/close the program when i'm traying to rebuild a previous surface.

My question:
For example: I create the "surface 1" and paste it on another surface ("surface 2" in this case).. there is a way that i can make this "surface 2" independent from the previous one, so can i delete/modify the surface 1 without afecting the surface 2? I tryied extracting points/countourns from surface 2 and create another surface (ex: surface 3), but this last surface will lose many details that I had in surface 2.
I wonder if there is any other way.

Sorry about my english, I hope I have been clear.
Thank you

Right click on the surface in Toolspace, select Create Snapshot. It should now be independent.

Rodrigo,

In Surface Properties you can un-check any individual edits, including surface pasting.

Hi, Dave.

The way you explained will return the final surface to the shape it was in the begining. My intention was to keep the final shape of the surface. So C3D-Nash solution solved my problem. Thanks!
