How are you doing the move?
The regular MOVE command and picking it and dragging it 10' over? Or direct distance entry?

Is your object snap enabled?

What is ELEVATION set to?

What are the elevations derived from? If they are extracted from the surface, then obviously they are going to change based off the different location of the surface.

The site may play a role in the elevations changing as well. You could try putting it on the "none" site.

Dear Friend,

There are two options.

Option 1 (easy method)

Offset the feature line instead of move. So the elevation will remain same.

Options 2 (Hard method)

If the feature line is dynamic make it static first. (I hope yours is not dynamic.)

Select feature line and go to elevation editor.

In the elevation editor not down the elevation of the first entity. Let us say 100ft.

Then move your feature line.

Select the feature line and go to elevation editor. Find the first entity elevation. Say 0ft.

Now go raise/lower option in the ribbon.

Raise the feature line by the difference in elevation. (In this case you need to raise by 100ft.)

Then you are done.
