How to create multi layer slope ( with different slope ratio)?

Here's something I want to create:

Take a look at the red part, they are slopes, and they are of different plan length and slope ratio, and they are repeating ( eg: first layer of slope has plan length =2m, ratio 1:2, the second layer of slope has plan length 2.5m, ratio 1:3, and they repeat until they hit the ground). 

 

So how can I achieve it easily without manually creating every single layer of the slopes?

 

I can( the drawing file) use Feature Lines with the following steps:

  1. Create polylines outlining the platform shapes
  2. Convert the polylines to Feature Lines together with their elevations at each corner
  3. Create feature lines to outline the slopes and berm contours. As for conjoined platforms with vertical drops in between, I created a small gap in between and used feature lines to enclose the gap which will also connect the edges of different elevations.
  4. Select all the feature lines individually > Add as breaklines to Surface

But as you can see, it is a very manual process because I still have to specify every single layer of the slopes down to the ground level, even though the slope layers form a pattern and are largely self repeating.

 

Is there anything in the Grading option that allows me to do that? I don't think so because Grading only allows one to specify one slope ratio instead of many.

Hi!

 

I'm actually not quite sure what you are trying to grade/model with the surface, but I think I understand what you are technically trying to accomplish. You actually can use grading features for this! 

 

The key capability is that you can create grading features based off of other grading features. You can layer them all together like you described.

 

Once you have your initial grading feature created,

you can create another one:

You can just keep creating grading features based off each other:

And yes, these are all dynamically linked, so if you update the elevations of the outermost feature line, all the inner grading features update.

 

Additionally, you can raise/lower a bunch of feature lines at the same time, by a specific elevation difference, which may also accomplish what you want. You might not even need grading features:
