How to change command from DLi (dimlinear) to DD - change or edit command

I want to change civil 3d commands/shortcuts as i want to use DD instead of DLI (DIMLINEAR) and AD instead of DAL (DIMALIGNED). in autocad i was using acad.pgp to change these commands but in civil 3d i tried it by editing acad.pgp and then restarting civil 3d and i tried aliasedit also, both not working. when i type on command line 'dd' changed shortcut/command it give 'DD must be called from within another command' .

can any one help plz

thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums

I would have to ask are you modifying the correct pgp file, there are two locations, but the methods your using should work.

yes it is PGP, this method is not working, i already used this method many years on autocad, i tried after removing and reinstalling civil 3d too but this method is not working, is there any lsp or any other method to replace or create shortcommands. i used more than five years different commands and now it became big problem for me.
Please if you can help
Thanks in advance

OK the possibility here is that DD (Direction Distance) and AD (Angle Distance) are both commands that are called with other commands. So your creating a conflict with something that is hard coded within Civil 3d.

Did you previously do this within AUTOCAD only?

OK but in Civil 3D these are defined or transparent commands, you would probably need to go int the CUI at that point and redefine the transparent commands. While this appears to be possible I'm not sure I would recommend it. But if you do try to do that, make a copy of the CUI and test it. Don't do it to the original. Be very careful not to provide the transparent commands with something that is in use by ACAD or C3D already.
