How to change Alignment length
You can grip edit the endpoint of an alignment which effectively lengthens it, but otherwise there is no length property that can be changed. Civil3D will automatically adjust the segments to maintain tangency to the end point. If there are other ways hopefully someone will chime in on the method(s).

You can also change the starting value of the chainage if you need to (while keeping the same absolute length)
