How do you show pipes copied parallel on profile view instead of copied vertically?

I've noticed that the profile view for a pipe network displays the top outside wall copied vertically up from the bottom inside wall of the pipe (bottom inside wall + inside diameter + pipe wall thickness) (#1 on screenshot).

On profile views, is there a way to display the top outside wall so that it is copied parallel from the bottom inside wall (#2 on screenshot) in order to be more accurate (particularly for larger diameter pipes with steep grades) for the actual location of the top outside wall of pipe?

Also, is the actual 3D model of the pipe network actually doing a copy vertical instead of a copy parallel?  Is the min cover and max cover (shown in the pipe properties section) calculated using a copy vertical or copy parallel from bottom inside wall to top outside wall?
