How do we disable project aware settings in the Civil 3D application?

Is there a way to disable this feature in Autodesk Civil 3D? It's forcing our project settings and support file paths to use whatever project settings were set up when the project was created (which is none because we don't setup our projects through ACC this way). This is making all of our LISP routines and tool palettes unusable, as well as a number of other issues that cannot be resolved/changed unless a project administrator goes in and changes the settings for each and every project we are working on, which is not a viable option. Further, we cannot add/remove/edit these paths in C3D locally because it also requires the project administrator to make those changes.

Can we disable this in our Autodesk application locally so it only points to our manually pathed support files/settings and not the "project aware" settings by default? We've tried to set the "PROJECTAWARE" command to 0, but it's a read-only variable that cannot be edited. If there isn't a way to change this manually, I suggest that a function be added to allow us to do so in a future update.

You can disable the shared support files just by deleting the ".autodesk.support" folder within your ACC project:

The only contents of the folder is a .json file which is where the shared support file directories are saved.

There are files within this folder that will be removed if I delete the .autodesksupport folder. Further, this deletion will affect the entire project as a whole as well as the users involved. I would not recommend deleting this folder. Even if it did temporarily "fix" the issue, this is just a temporary workaround with no guarantee that ACC won't just recreate it in the future. We need a permanent fix for all projects.

Sorry for tagging into a 6 month old thread.
You cant have it both ways.  If the .autodesk.support folder exists (which is a user/admin created folder) it is going to automatically read the contents and setup the project to use the folder.  Forma does not create that folder, or at least it hasnt in any of the projects I've been working on.  If someone clicks on that Set up button from the OPTIONS dialog it will create it.  I believe that the option only exists for Project Admins.  Even so, it creates it as an empty folder.  If there is content in that folder, someone manually placed it there.
You could add other paths into the support folder structure, or in the "my settings" to point to your normal folders.
perhaps there are other people on the project using AutoCAD or some other AutoCAD based product that are using the folder.  If that is the case, perhaps setting the permissions to the folder in Forma to exclude the people in your group so they cant even see the folder will help.
