How do I go about inserting an aerial image into Civil 3D amd make it georeferenced into the correct location? Which aerial should I use? Where should I go to get the aerial and how do I insert it? I hate that Autodesk makes every little task so extremely complicated.
If you have your drawing set up properly with your coordinate system and have a boundary survey (or any objects in the plan.) set in the drawing, it is just a matter of a few seconds after selecting the GEOLOCATION menu the map will pop in. Select the Map Aerial, it is a Bing Map.

@Anonymous - it's the same command in AutoCAD, although the process is slightly easier in C3D since all you really need to do is set your coordinate system.
FYI: The Bing imagery is older and generally poorer in quailty than say Google (for example). There are commercial 3rd party apps that can import Google imagery, and imagery from other sources.
@Anonymous - it's easy in Civil 3D.
Go to the C3D Toolspace > Settings > Select your drawing, right-click, select Edit Drawing Settings > Go to the Units and Zone tab > Make your selection. Done.
