How do I create half drainage pipes to collect water and connect them to the drainage system in Civil 3D? Should I use the same assembly as a street or is there a more appropriate system for drainage?

Open channels and Civil 3D gravity networks do not compatible.  

A corridor surface for channel can create a surface, which can drive elevations of surface elements of a pipe network.

I was curious about exactly that—using a final surface and allowing water to flow through the curbs. Thank you for clarifying. Currently, I'm in the process of mastering the intricacies of pipe networking.
