How can the font size on input text be increased?

Try setting the variable TOOLTIPSIZE to a larger number. The range is from -3 to 6 and the default is 0.  You can also change it by entering DSETTINGS and on the Dynamic Input tab select the Drafting Tooltip Appearance button and change the size there.
