HGL at Fixed Outfall

Hi All,

First post here so bare with me.

I'm trying to model a particular scenario where my outfall is submerged. I've selected a "fixed" boundary condition and set the water elevation to 8.68m. However, when I run the analysis, the max water elevation returns as 4.49. Surely this should not be below my set water elevation? Also, when looking at the profile plot, neither the HGL, Max. HGL or EGL rise above the max water level in the pipe of 4.49. Again, surely at the outfall, these should be at the same level as the fixed water elevation of 8.68mOD?

I've tried to attached my file but can't as filetype is not accepted??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

S

Sounds like you are in Kinematic mode, not Dynamic...Need to switch to Dynamic to work with tailwater.

Great, thanks. I knew it was something simple. I'll try it in the morning and report back
