Having trouble with Feature lines

Hi Everyone, 

I'm currently attempting to figure out how to place my feature line on a surface in Civil 3D, as I'm fairly new to the program. Is there a drape feature that I am skipping over?

Select the Featureline. open the Elevation Editor, Select Elevation from Surface. When the dialog box opens; make sure the correct Surface is selected and check 'Insert intermediate grade break points.

That will create Elevation Points at the Surface Grade Breaks.

You can shortcut the process by entering FEATUREELEVSFROMSURF on the command line

That worked and helped me out tremendously, I do have one remaining question. 

Is there any way I can solve the linework being located underneath the surface? 

Ideally, I would like for the Feature lines to lay on the surface.

If you used the command on each of the lines. They should be at the elevation of the Surface. Can you post your drawing?

Ahh, I see!

I grouped the Feature lines assuming it would attach to the surface seamlessly.

I ungrouped and it worked, Thanks Allen!
