Hatch projected objects in profile view

Hi all,

So I am creating a profile view, with an existing ground surface as my primary profile. I have a number of 3D polylines which exist below this, representing different boundaries (top-clay, top-weathered rock, top-fresh rock, etc).

I project these polylines on to my profile view so they sit in their correct locations below EG level.

I know I can't hatch them using the profile view properties hatch tab, as they're projected objects and not surface profiles, so I was thinking I can hatch them using the HATCH command.

When I type it in and hover over a particular area (say between top-weather and top-fresh bedrock) the correct area is highlighted, so it seems the hatching will work. However, when I then click it it fills in the whole profile view instead of the specific area. Is there any solution for this?

TL;DR is there a way to hatch projected objects in profile view using the HATCH command?

Cheers,

Conor O'Sullivan

Here is one way you can accomplish this without too much extra effort.
