Hardware Acceleration grayed out

Hello,

I'm having one of the strangest thing on autocad: from nothing (that i noticed) i lost the hardware acceleration, it doesn't even recognize my graphics card, Quadro T1000. I'm working on Civil 2022, asked the IT to install Civil 2023 and the problem remains.

I have tried the latest Nvidia driver, now i tried the driver version recommended on Autodesk certified  graphics hardware page, i have a autocad profile on my nvidia control panel and also on my windows 10 graphics settings.

My directx version is 12, i tried with 11 also, but still remains grayed out, honestly i don't have anymore ideas.

As you can see in the image attached, it is using gdi16.hdi with no graphics card, and the tuner log is almost a blank sheet.

Any idea with be greatfull apreciated!

Thanks!

Does your system have an on-board graphics card? That's what it appears to be, I do not exhibit you issue in 2022-2024. Check windows settings.

So within the Nvidia Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings  > Global Settings > Preferred graphics processor, what is it set to?  Auto-Select?

Thank you for the quick answers.

Yes the pc has a on board, but even that one isn't recognized by Autocad.

I have the autocad aplication forced to use my T1000, and in nvidia, it lo longer offers the option to choose the prefered graphics, i saw in a nvidia article that now it is determined by windows:

So, like i said before, i think i have everything supposely configured...

Go to device manager and disable the Intel Graphics card. Make it only the NVIDIA Card.

I dont have permissions for that but:

a) if since i have this pc, it worked fine with autocad civil using the T1000, what could possible have changed to disable graphics acceleration?

b) Shouldn't autocad at least recognize the intel oboard graphics card?

And now, i opened a big 3d plan, started moving it, and on resource tab, my intel was at 0% worload and the T1000 was at 34%....

thank you.

using autocad while viewing a complex model, it was only 2% in this picture because it took me time to make a print, it was going about 20% of utilization, and the intel remained always at 0%

I'd suggest testing you graphics card. Probably with a benchmarking program. I've never done this myself. If your computer isn't seeing the card or only partially seeing it. I'd think it's the card.

I did a stress test, wich identified my gpu and passed the test:

Three things that i've noticed:

a) I've noticied in my 2022 civil version and by installing the 2023 i was hoping that this problem would go away, it didn't.

b) if i go to windows graphics settings and change the autocad preferred card from Nvidia T1000 to Intel on board, nothing changes in both autocad versions.

c) Like i said before, if i open a complex 3D model, i see activity in the T1000 on the task manager

thank you.

Hi Nuno,

In addition to the suggestions provided by our experts, I recommend reviewing this article for additional troubleshooting steps: Hardware acceleration cannot be enabled in AutoCAD products

Feel free to explore these additional steps, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or need assistance.
