Grading to a surface with variable slope

I've read two discussions that seem to address my question - but I still cannot figure out how to do what I want to do.  I'm placing a swale parallel to a curb line for a parking area. I've graded the bottom of the swale up at a 3:1 slope around the entire bottom.  I now want to tie in the feature line on one side of the swale to the back of the curb line - keeping the existing elevations along the curb line.  I want to grade the rest of the perimeter of the swale to the exiting ground surface at a 5:1 slope.  See figure below:

I've tried tracing the back of the curb with a polyline - then making the polyline a feature line (getting elevations from existing surface) and then adding the feature line to my swale surface as a non-destructive breakline.  But then I'm stumped - how do I get a grading from my swale feature line to the new curb feature line?  I've tried doing a 5:1 grade to surface along the entire swale feature line - but the grading doesn't stop at the new breakline.I can't do an infill between the swale and the curb since that area is not closed.  I can grade most of the swale perimeter to the existing surface at a 5:1, but where do I start and stop - and how do I tie that portion of the swale surface into the part that will be between the swale and the curb?  Thanks for any help.

Create a surprise from your grading and ad the curb FL to that surface

Thanks.  I did that, but it looks like I have to to something else as well.  I traced the back of the curb with a polyline and then made that polyline an FL.  I then added the FL to the surface as a non-destructive breakline.  But ... when I check to see what's what with a quick profile I get the graph below.

You can see that the swale has been generated, but there is no surface between the swale and the curb line.  How do I get the surface to extend from the swale to the FL that is the curb line?

Ok so you have a surface that is created from your grading, this surface should be a sepreate surface on a seperate site, and the FL tie at the BOC should also be on that site so as to not interact with your existing curb line. Just use a standard breakline, your creating a entirely new surface on a new site, by them being on seperate sites they wont interact with each other. and everything should tie in. (I just did a similar thing this weekend using points between an EG - FG sitiuation.)
