I have found the grading optimizer to be pretty good overall. I have used it on several projects, the most recent included parcels!
I received some feedback regarding a preliminary surface I graded using GO and the client wants to move some contours slightly. I am not aware of any workflows that allows GO to process polylines with pre-defined elevations. It would be great to have a hybrid workflow where I could start GO with a few polyline contours and grade the rest using the other grading objects and criteria.
I can’t add these contours after GO has finished as the surface has too many triangles and the polyline contours have little influence.
Below is the surface graded, the yellow lines is where the client wants to see certain contours.
