Grading changing existing surface

Hi All,

I have put a grading on a site with a contoured surface. On all the demos I have seen the existing surface changes to match the grading. For some reason my does not.

Any ideas please?

This is my first time at doing grading so I am not sure if i need to tick a box or something.

I have attached a screen shot to show what I mean.

Regards

Rich

The existing surface should not be expected to change to match the grading but, if you create a third surface and paste existing surface and grading surface into that, this third surface will change as grading is modified.

Rich,

Tim's advice is excellent. If you need more insight into pasting surfaces, please post your drawing and one of us will show you specific steps.

PS if you can find out why my stations are not showing on my plan alignment that would be great as well 😆

Thanks

Rich,

Step 1. Set all your Surface Styles to "No Display".
Step 2. Create a new Surface.
Step 3. Under Definition, right-click on Edits. Choose "Paste Surface..."
Step 4. In the Select Surface to Paste Dialogue Box, choose Existing Ground and click OK.
Step 5. Right-click again on Edits, choose "Paste Surface..."
Step 6. In the Select Surface to Paste Dialogue Box, choose Car Park and click OK.
Step 7. Style and Display this new "combined" surface to suit.

Thank you, I take it I just use the grip function on the TIN to adjust it?
